Commenting on what cemented her belief that she is in the right industry, she says, “There wasn’t one single moment that told me this is where I have to be. Moments of success have reiterated that I’ve been doing the right thing, and there have been moments of doubt as well.”

Sharing her views on the subject, she says, “The video tackles issues that we women, in India hear and face every day. There are good souls fighting this hard fight to change things in every sphere of society, and with people making videos like these, hopefully it’ll become a conversation and not just a one sided monologue.”

In this intensely competitive industry, Mariette believes that her success can be attributed to her attitude and experience; and people who have helped her along the way. Although the industry has its challenges, she loves her job and has always enjoyed working. “I think it gets hard because one is required to look a certain way every single day. Of course I’ve had my days where I question my sanity, but then I remind myself of why I am doing this.”

Stating her hopes for the future Mariette says, “As long as I can keep growing and exploring new avenues, and not be stagnant, I will be happy. And oh, play a total badass leading lady in one film!”
