Offstage Sneha might possess a shy disposition, but when she gets on, she is confidence and liveliness personified! Having appeared in a number of comedy videos with other popular comedians like Sanjay Manaktala and Sumukhi Suresh, apart from writing and performing her own sketches for the stage and her YouTube channel, Sneha is steadily making a name for herself on the comedy scene.
I knew I wanted to be on stage. I danced, acted, none of these got me as excited as comedy. Comedy is my own show, I’m the director, writer, actor.”
Performing on stage not being new to her, comedy was the only act that truly got her excited. She says, “I knew I wanted to be on stage. I danced, acted, none of these got me as excited as comedy. Comedy is my own show, I’m the director, writer, actor.” Buoyed by a good first experience at an open mic in June last year, Sneha has been performing regularly.
Late nights, frequent travel, and parents being worried about her safety are just a few of the personal challenges that Sneha faces in her line of work. The other major concern being money, having to juggle another job to pay the bills, till she has a steady income. Nonetheless, Sneha has no regrets. “It’s something that I have entered into after knowing exactly how it is going to be.”
Sneha manages to keep cool despite belonging to a competitive industry. Talking about how she deals with it, she says, “The key to this is to not give up, hold on to it, make sure you have a source of income, not get frustrated when laughs don’t come, not get affected personally by feedback.” Learning and growing, Sneha is keen on carving her own unique niche.
Sharing the process of ideating for her YouTube videos, she says, “I write a lot, if something fits in a video format, I try and visualise it. I’ve also done a film making course from L.V Prasad, which has helped me to think visually.”

Stand-up being her main focus, for now Sneha is committed to performing at open mics and doing comedy shows. Acting is something she is keen on, provided she can be a part of the creative process as well.
Sneha urges aspiring comedians not to waste anymore time. “START!! I think that is where people delay the most. You can’t sit and wait for opportunities. Never be afraid to ask for help.”
