We have all heard about match-making apps. But here is one app to match your itineraries with that of your fellow travellers: LEVO, the networking lounge and ecosystem for every working individual who knows that networking pays off.

As a frequent flyer, the drudgery of waiting at the airport would make me want to observe the people who surrounded me. I was always intrigued by their profiles and wished that there was an easy way to learn more about their story!”

With our lifestyle turning into one of a digital nomad’s, we frequently depend on the networking we can find anywhere and everywhere. So, one fine day while discussing over an MBA project two childhood friends, Rahul Maheshwari and Tarun Lala, in aid to finding a solution for best possible networking, came up with an idea that is best described as a ‘Tinder for businesses and entrepreneurs’. LEVO’s tagline aptly says, ‘Make the most of your travel time’. Rahul, the co-founder of the app, says, “As a frequent flyer, the drudgery of waiting at the airport would make me want to observe the people who surrounded me. I was always intrigued by their profiles and wished that there was an easy way to learn more about their story!” And thus the seed for the much talked about app with most business individuals was planted.

Though we are all hurrah over ‘Digital India’, the Indian market is not as accepting towards new apps as we believe. The Indian market is a rough place for entrepreneurs. Even as we grow into digitally embedded businesses, majority of us seem to get stuck with one app rather than giving other “out-of-the-box” apps a chance, perhaps that’s why, Tarun says, “Doing business in India is not easy. That itself is de-motivating.”

Frustration does tend to build up when ideas get jammed, and so Rahul comments on the initial and more difficult days of their business, There definitely have been many instances where some of the basic underlying assumptions of our business model have fallen apart. I have walked out of the office many a times, questioning my own choices in life!”

My parents have always been supportive – even at times when they didn’t get what I was trying to achieve!”

Questions they have had were frequently aided with the support of both of their families, Rahul who comes from a business family says, “While it is hard to convince your parents about new-age and quirky ideas that don’t see a return from day one, my folks have always believed in me and supported in every possible way.” Tarun’s family being less technically involved had the faith in him, though he laughs and says, “My parents have always been supportive – even at times when they didn’t get what I was trying to achieve!”

As Indians, we are generally guarded to approach others, and that hinders many instances where a good rapport and networking could have been built. Tarun says that the LEVO app was built keeping in mind that it would reduce inhibition in people and help people be more approaching once they notice the similarities and an opportunities that can be gained with a simple, “Hello” with a fellow traveller.

While speaking about what other opportunities they are looking towards, Rahul says, “Tarun and I talk about new ideas every single day! We are always looking at newer features to integrate into LEVO.” Though they have trail of ideas apart from LEVO, both the founders say that they presently want to make Digital India see the potential of LEVO.

Rahul Maheshwari and Tarun Lala’s small idea may just be the big leap that aids in India truly growing into a digital market.
