Two widely different personalities and best friends have been making our mundane digital space far more entertaining with their YouTube Channel ‘Jordindian’. The founders Naser Al Azzeh and Vineeth “Beep” Kumar are both well known in their own professions. Naser is a well known dancer, and founder of the dance groups Black Ice Crew – India, Freeze, and Freeze B-Boy Championship; while Vineeth is a Beat-boxer and has interviewed the likes of Shahrukh Khan, A.R. Rahman, Salman Khan, Mika, to name a few, for his former stint as a 9XE tuber, as an associate of the music channel 9XE. The common ground between these two entertainers: the need to make people laugh. And they are doing just that, with Jordindian.
Jordindian is a product of boredom and bad content in the Indian digital market. So basically we were bored and had a lot of free time.”
Creating hilarious skits together, the founders of Jordindian cite their reason for making people laugh their hearts out with each episode, “Jordindian is a product of boredom and bad content in the Indian digital market. So basically we were bored and had a lot of free time.” A good enough reason to believe that boredom can actually be a good thing. Jor-Indian is a name that has a strong and heart-felt association with their respective ethnic backgrounds; with Naser bringing his Sheik like swagger from Jordan, and Vineeth bringing his macho South-Indianess. Entertaining people comes naturally to both of them. Jordindian is Vineeth and Naser’s barely four-month-old YouTube baby, which has already found a fan following of over a thousand subscribers and has 27, 600 plus views on Youtube, while the Facebook subscribers are hitting the high of 30 thousand plus, two of their videos was so well received that it has over 650 thousand views! Their thoughts on making this baby: “Since we just started we would say no, that hasn’t hit us yet.” Treating it as a hobby, the boys say has helped them come up with interesting and creative content.
Our goal is basically to make ourselves and people laugh, sometimes we try slipping in a subtle message here and there, some people get the message and some just get a good laugh.”
Commenting on the message that their comic skits portray, the entertainers say, “Our goal is basically to make ourselves and people laugh, sometimes we try slipping in a subtle message here and there, some people get the message and some just get a good laugh.”
Their sketches are one of the ways to get our tightly wound society to learn to take and share jokes. Vineeth “Beep” Kumar and Naser Al Azzeh have been pursuing their hobbies as careers, and in doing so they are making sure that India never falls short of laughs and out-of-the-box entertainment. When the brave live boldly, so do their brilliant ideas.
