For the millions in the country who think that there is way too much importance given to cricket, Footieculture is the hope that the nation’s been waiting for. Footieculture is an organization that aims to establish football amongst the premier national sports of India. The founders, Preetham Chandra, Karun M.A, Nikhil Rajashekar, Deepak Loganathan, and Abhiram Kramadhati Gopi, wanted to throw light on the game of Football say, “Our goal is to create and develop the culture of football right from the grassroots level and taking it forward to people of all ages, Footieculture aims to provide a holistic platform for each footballer.”

Transferring the high
As Football players themselves, the entrepreneurs found it exuberating when competing in tournaments. The rush of competition was a high that they wanted to share with the world. However, there was a scarcity when it came to organized tournaments and they organized a football tournament called ‘Rebels Cup’, which turned out to be the biggest football tournament in the city. Drawing inspiration from the success, the enthusiastic entrepreneurs decided, over a cup of tea, that they wanted to improve the state of Football in the city and wanted to build a business around this mission. Subsequent to this was the birth of Footieculture.
Breaking the offence
Knowing that the endeavor to shed light on one of the most dynamic sports in the world is bound to have obstacles, the businessmen were mentally prepared to overcome them. To start off with, all of the founders were from an Engineering background. Therefore, they had no experience in building a business in general, and, to build a business around a sport that the general public was not very involved in, was an even more challenging role. This in-turn would shun investors away from involving themselves in a company that revolved around the sport. All the above obstacles concocted with the fact that there was limited infrastructure and mentorship in the city, made it almost an impossible feat for the entrepreneurs to achieve.
The boldest move was to choose our passion to be our careers. We’ve had to, and still have to, sacrifice a lot, but it’s more painful to live with the regret of constantly thinking about what could have been.”
Came, saw, and scored!
However, they took it as a challenge and now it’s just another bold move that’s set these individuals apart from the crowd. They say, “The boldest move was to choose our passion to be our careers. We’ve had to, and still have to, sacrifice a lot, but it’s more painful to live with the regret of constantly thinking about what could have been.” This is what every budding entrepreneur must live by. The pain it takes to build your business today is nothing compared to the pain of regret tomorrow, if you hadn’t. Footieculture is now planning on expanding their horizons and moving into other cities, and also tell the youth that dreams are achievable as long as you believe. It all starts with only a single step.
