in Entrepreneur/Social by

It’s a known fact that the infrastructure for sports in India is underdeveloped. Even with the limited opportunities that our nation provides to our youngsters, there is an inequality. Not everyone receives the same opportunity for sports in the nation. Realizing this, Kavya Ananth founded ‘Rebels Foundation’; a non-profit organization that believes that youngsters from all walks of life should have access to the best sporting opportunities in an increasingly globalized society. The NGO founder, Kavya says, “Children dropping out of sports is not only due to the lack of adequate resources and coaching but also due to difficult circumstances such as dysfunctional homes, financial constraints, lack of parental support, etc.”

Setting sights on greater things

After studying and interning in the field of psychology, Kavya knew that she was meant to do greater things. She began working on the NGO after she failed to understand why our nation lacked the encouragement and training facilities in the realm of sports. And, with the help of like-minded people, she has succeeded in serving the underprivileged. So much so that even the government is supporting the initiative. The passionate social worker says, “Helping underprivileged children has always been my goal. And, working with these children and doing good for them has shaped me to become a better person myself.”

Don’t lose hope! Stick to your dreams until you achieve it, and overcome the adversities with a positive attitude.”

The organization now looks to help underprivileged children across the country and wants to reach out to 2500 kids by the end of the year, and with the disciplined social activist heading the movement, we’re confident that they will. She says, “Don’t lose hope! Stick to your dreams until you achieve it, and overcome the adversities with a positive attitude.” Kavya has been an inspiration to many, and we truly hope someone else follows her footsteps to make our nation a better place to live in.
