After graduating from BITS Pilani, Sudheendra Chilappagari went on to work for companies that gave him tremendous exposure in various parameters that helped him in starting up his company, Belong; the world’s first predictive outbound hiring solution that helps companies discover, engage and hire undiscoverable talent. On average, adults spend 60% of their waking lives working. Don’t we deserve to spend this time happy, at a place we belong? “
Unlocking one’s true potential
Belong is an initiative that was created to hire amazing, passionate people who were clearly in the wrong place. Sudheendra and the co-founders of ‘Belong’, Vijay Sharma, Rishabh Kaul, and Saiteja Veera shared a challenge in the previous organizations they worked for of hiring amazing people to build great teams, Soon, it became apparent to them that there was a mismatch between passionate people and the places they worked in. This, Sudheendra says, stands in the way of achieving satisfaction and unlocking one’s true potential. He goes on to say, “On average, adults spend 60% of their waking lives working. Don’t we deserve to spend this time happy, at a place we belong?”
Finding the place we truly belong
This was the beginning of ‘Belong’ and the entrepreneur’s dedication to helping amazing companies find amazing people that truly belong! The company believes that people are much more than the skills they pick up, or designations they hold in their workplace. It takes more than just human recourses to build a lasting company, according to ‘Belong’; it requires human beings with aspirations and values. And, the passionate entrepreneur says, “We are pouring our heart, soul and powerful data into helping awesome companies find people who truly belong, so they can make spectacular things happen.”
We see challenges every day in the form of things not going quite as we had planned and it’s very easy to give up. However, I learnt that it takes at least 10-15 years to create value and build a successful company.”
A first-generation entrepreneur’s struggle
Sudheendra being a first generation entrepreneur needs something much more than his exuberant passion and zeal to make his venture successful. He says, “We see challenges every day in the form of things not going quite as we had planned and it’s very easy to give up. However, I learnt that it takes at least 10-15 years to create value and build a successful company.”
Building an Utopian society
Slowly and steadily, Sudheendra hopes to achieve his ambitious vision of living in a utopian world where every human being belongs at their workplace and are happy. He says, “We have not achieved even 1% of it, so there are lot of interesting things we plan to do in the future to help companies and people find each other.” Playing cupid to companies and employees may be the most important thing, in this, day and age, to create a happy, and peaceful life amongst the working class.
